We have been in the business of helping birds in the Kansas City area as Burge Bird Services, an avian veterinary practice, since 1990. Now we have an IRS and state approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue organization so we can help even more. We take in over 100 unwanted companion birds every year and help find them new homes. Some of these birds need medical or surgical care that the owners cannot pay for, some of them are "too loud" or "too messy", and some have just become "inconvenient". Help us help the birds by looking thru our available adoptees and see if one of them is right for you!
We do not ship birds, and do not encourage breeding of the small common species such as parakeets (budgies), cockatiels, lovebirds, and Zebra Finches.
